A collective participatory performance about money, art and power by Aderemi Adegbite, Anuja Ghosalkar, Konradin Kunze, Ada Mukhina, Sophia Stepf, Abhishek Thapar.

Produced by Flinn Works and Afra Tafri Creations, it premiered in November 2024 in Berlin (Sophiensaele), and then toured in Groningen (Grand Theater), Arnhem (Theater a/d Rijn), and Amsterdam (Frascati). It was nominated for nachtkritik-Theatertreffen 2025.

EXILE PROMENADE

Concept / Director / Co-author

The performative walk leads to places of historical and current places of exile in the city, which interweave with the exile biographies of the three protagonists and with different eras of migration.

Premiere – June 2023, Berliner Festspiele, Performing Exiles Festival curated by Matthias Lillienthal in consultation with Rabih Mroué. The new run took place in May 2024 in cooperation with the Exilmuseum Berlin. The walk was also presented at Cité internationale des arts in Paris in September 2024.

RISK LAB

A hybrid series of participatory performances about risk in art and artists at risk, created in collaboration with guest risk-taking artists from around the world.

Presented in London (Camden People’s theatre, 2018), Berlin (Deutsches Theater, Radar Ost Festival, 2021), Washington DC (Georgetown University, The Gathering, 2022), Mainz (Staatstheater, Grenzenlos Kultur Festival, 2022), and Stuttgart (Theater Rampe, March 2024).

HOW TO SELL YOURSELF TO THE WEST

A performance project that investigates unique selling points, identity advantage, success strategies, and the politics inside the Western art market.

Conceived in the art residency of the Young Academy of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin in 2020. Presented as a lecture-performance at the Radar Ost Festival 2021 at Deutsches Theater Berlin and as a radio feature in 2023 at Deutschlandfunk (German radio). The new adaptation of the lecture-performance was presented at Maison d’artiste et de production Cromot in Paris in 2024.

CARIES OF CAPITALISM

A politically engaged participatory performance about precarity, money, and labor inside the theatre industry. Devised in collaboration with Alena Papina, Olga Tarakanowa, Daria Iuriichuk. Premiere – October 1, 2019, at the Meyerhold theatre center (Moscow, Russia).

Nominee for the grand prize of the Sergei Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award 2020. Long-list of the most notable theatre productions of the season 2019/2020, chosen for the special program Russian case 2020 of the Golden Mask Russian National Theatre award.

LOCKER ROOM TALK

Male sexist texts are performed by womXn bodies. Based on the verbatim play Locker Room Talk by Gary McNair. Created in collaboration with choreographer Daria Iuriichuk and dramaturg Olga Tarakanowa. Premiere – June 4, 2019, at the Meyerhold Theatre Center (Moscow, Russia).
